How to silence your inner judge and boost your confidence.
For many of us, one of the biggest barriers to boosting our confidence is learning how to control that nagging voice that questions our choices, our actions and hits replay on events that have already happened.
This voice is your inner critic, it’s a form of self-sabotage, it’s holding you back from seeing the change you want to create in your life.
Your inner critic does not motivate you, what motivates you is the voice of encouragement, the voice of self-compassion, the voice of possibility.
Your inner critic is holding you back for moving forward, it’s time we loosen its grip and learn to silence it.
Here are some things you can do to lower the sound of your inner critic and amplify your confidence:
Self-compassion is really recognising what it is be to human and meeting our basic human needs. Self-compassion is not self-care in the superficial spa treatments way, it is the possibility to change our inner voice and meet it with kindness. It is the about beginning the journey to understanding where this voice is coming from and where it originated.
2. Meditate to become more mindful.
The first step in silencing your inner critic is to become aware of it because we cannot change what we are not aware of. Meditation helps you make the unconscious conscious, raising your awareness of your inner voice you can shine a light on it and change it. Mindfulness is noticing your thoughts before you engage with them, preventing the slippery slope of self-sabotage.
3. Stop comparing yourself to others.
When we fall into the comparison trap, that is when our mind plays tricks, telling us and making us feel that we don’t measure up. So, the idea is Stop comparing yourself to others, start looking inwards, see your worthiness and know you have the power within to achieve whatever you want. Comparison is the instigator, it’s the spark on which the inner critic thrives so looking inward or beginning your journey of self-development will quench the spark.
4. Start a daily self-gratitude journaling habit.
Every day you can write down one thing about yourself you’re grateful for. Acknowledge your successes and give thanks for your effort and commitment.
Start engaging in activities that you enjoy that boost your confidence and lift your vibration, the same goes for the company you keep!
